In-engine Generalist - Freelance (UE4/Unity/Frostbite)

As a generalist, you will work with our existing team to create a variety of areas to bring our realtime work to life.
You will be working on shaders, environment/scene development, lighting and polishing all these elements in-engine.
It’s a role built for people who have an eye for bringing together an image and have a good eye for finishing.
All of the work will be across a number of engines including Unreal Engine 4, Unity, Frostbite etc. so knowledge of at least one of these platforms is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:-
- Provide technical art support for assets created, performing scene development, optimisation and finishing tasks in the engine.
- Provide additional support for the creation of shaders and materials.
- Provide additional support for the creation of lighting set ups.
- Interpret art direction and follow direction provided correctly and efficiently.
- Exhibit a voracious appetite for understanding the current CG environment, and learning new techniques both from the team and personal resources to keep up to date with skills.
- Build rapport with the team and offer assistance where possible.
- Utilise strong skills in problem solving, attention to detail and final quality.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:-
- Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 4, Frostbite or Unity.
- Good knowledge of either 3D Studio Max or Maya
MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES:-
- A strong portfolio is a must, that shows multiple examples of environmental artwork that has a photorealistic look and feel.
- Generalist knowledge across, scene assembly and managing content, and good lighting skills in a realtime engine.
- Experience working with environments.
- Be motivated, self-disciplined.
- Perform well under deadline pressure in a fast paced environment, prioritising different tasks to achieve the project goals.
BONUS:
- Good knowledge of Mari (ideally) or a similar texturing package.
- Some knowledge of Vray, Arnold or similar rendering package.
- Knowledge of Substance Painter/Designer
- Ability to create decent quality materials from scratch.
- Knowledge of Blueprint and level design skills are advantageous.
