The CG Supervisor will be responsible for and have ownership primarily for the creative delivery of our productions on Animation and Games Cinematics, ensuring that quality of finish, content and technical aspects all meet requirements set out. You will provide regular feedback to the Production team, Artists and clients and drive the vision for what the final output needs to be, leveraging an excellent eye for finish.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive and craft a vision for excellence in REALTIME on our Animation and Full CG productions.
- Work with the Senior Team to ensure client specifications, final assets and creative consistency is met.
- Full responsibility for the delivery of CG productions and the associated team, providing advice, feedback and technical know-how to help deliver shots.
- Ensuring the CG Director’s vision is realised by providing technical feedback and ensuring the team overcome workflow obstacles.
- Work with the Directors and Pipeline TD’s to ensure our workflows, processes and pipelines are effective and optimised for production work.
- Establish guides and documentation to communicate quality and expectations.
- Work with the Executive Producer and/or Head of Production to provide support on client bids.
- Liaise with and advise clients to determine requirements and provide creative solutions that support their expectations and our working methods.
- Liaise with Head of Production – Games in regards to resource planning and associated activities for current projects.
Provide hands on generalist, previs and/or scene dev work to deliver shots where needed and provide a benchmark for less senior crew members.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES:
- Expert knowledge of Maya.
- Good knowledge of Houdini.
- Knowledge of Unreal.
- Several years of experience working in a CG or VFX supervisory capacity at management level.
- Robust knowledge and skills in CG/3D Generalist work, along with an understanding of at least one or more specialist area (such as FX, Technical art, etc).
- Relatable background in leading and directing CG/VFX teams on relevant projects.
- Experience working within the bidding process and negotiating client’s needs and expectations.
- Great eye for finishing CG shots and providing creative and technical details that bring the most out of the shot.
- Competent skills in Shotgrid and Admin Management tools.
- Be able to nurture talent.
- Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
