REALTIME is on the lookout for a Lead FX TD to come in and work closely with our VFX Supervisors and Production team to help develop and craft a variety of effects for our latest Episodic projects.

You will be delivering a wide range of both creative and technical solutions to project requirements, as well as being responsible to champion internal development of our FX tools and pipeline. You will be able to work on realistic and stylized effects, simulations for fluids/ocean, soft body, rigid body - and many unique elements linked to the projects you will be on! A proactive nature will be required because a lot of the FX work is both awesome and challenging - and we get a lot of VFX heavy work due to the nature of our studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a variety of FX based assets under the direction of the VFX Supervisor.
• Work on creating simulations for environmental and character based effects to a highly polished level.

• Work with the production team to ensure that the bidding and scheduling of FX work is accurate.
• Create FX using Pyro, Fluids, Vellum, Smoke, and more within Houdini.

• Work with the CG/VFX Supervisors and Production team to explore and suggest solutions to technical and creative challenges.
• Lead and mentor other FX Artists on approaches to work or technical aspects of Houdini.

MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES

• A strong portfolio is a must, that shows multiple examples of quality FX work within Houdini.
• Delivered at least one high end episodic or feature show as a Lead.
• Good eye for final FX creation, and ability to craft high end examples that would suit top tier productions.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Be motivated, self-disciplined, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Perform well under deadline pressure in a fast paced environment, prioritizing different tasks to achieve the project goals.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

• Good knowledge of Houdini and Karma
• Good knowledge of Maya

BONUS

• Knowledge of UE5
• Knowledge of VRay
• Understanding of character FX sims in Houdini, such as hair or fur sims is going to be advantageous.
